Distribution transformers are generally provided with advanced control measures that ensure their operation and safety at a high reliability because their failure usually leads to long power outage, increase maintenance cost and unreliable provision of electricity to customers. Despite the protection measures that accompany a distribution transformer, there is still a need to provide extra remote monitoring systems to increase the reliability of operation and the confidence of instantaneous fault reporting. This paper deals with the design and construction of automatic monitoring system for power transformer parameters. An Arduino board coupled with XBEE module were programmed to enable the monitoring of voltage, current and temperature on a typical power transformer. The system was implemented and tested successfully. Results showed that the voltage versus temperature as well as current versus voltage characteristic obtained, were closed to datasheet specifications and therefore confirming the reliability of the proposed design. This system is therefore recommended as an additional protection that should be added to Power Transformers.(INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PAPER AVAILABLE)
PIR Motion Sensor Switch which can detect the Infrared Rays released by human body. The light or any other electrical appliance can be activated automatically by the active presence of a human body within the detection range / coverage area & when there is no presence the light will be deactivated automatically. PIR sensors allow you to sense motion, almost always used to detect whether a human has moved in or out of the sensors range. They are small, inexpensive, low-power, easy to use and don't wear out. For that reason they are commonly found in appliances and gadgets used in homes or businesses. They are often referred to as PIR, "Passive Infrared", "Pyro-electric" or "IR motion" sensors .(INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PAPER AVAILABLE)
The precision of angular position control for DC geared motor using PID controller. The Arduino microcontroller board is mainly used to control the 12V brushed Namiki DC motor. L298N dual H-bridge motor driver is applied to execute the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal and to drive the direction control. The implementation code is considered to generate the PWM output using PID (proportional, integral and derivative) tuning algorithms. According to the PID tuning method, errors are not only solved but also taken to its minimal value with very low amount of error oscillations. In this work, step input, sine input and potentiometer input are tested to analyze the system performance. The results were clearly seen, the controller output response curve is very well-matched to approach the desired position. But, it has a few errors when the orientation of changes angle because they are not fast to reach the desired position. Therefore, friction compensation according to the velocity effect is considered. After compensating the friction effect, the PID output results were very precise to get the desired angle. This stability performance using PID controller can be applied for robotic arm position control system and other industrial applications.(INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PAPER AVAILABLE)
The main objective of this paper is to simplify the surveillance system in the jails without any human error using GPS and GSM. In general when police authorities and law enforcement agencies need to monitor movement of some suspected person or when a suspect is prohibited from moving out of a particular geographical system, it is very difficult to keep a constant watch on the suspect. Even it is difficult to track if any prisoner among the huge number of prisoner’s escapes from the prison through underground tunnel or by hiding in some kind of opaque objects. For such situations we propose a GPS and GSM based handcuff system that will keep the track of the suspect. Now the prisoner is allowed to move within a particular geographical area. When the prisoner moves within any geographical area the system on prisoner is in range of the prison/house or facility system and it does not track him. This is done by using RF wireless system. Now as soon as prisoner goes out of the specific geographical area the system detects that the receiver is not receiving signals from the transmitter mounted in the prison. The system sends an alert message to the receiver indicating the escape of prisoner. Then the GPS tracks down the prisoner by sending the real-time location of prisoner through GSM module by sending SMS. Thus this system automates the entire process of surveillance, house arrests and for patient monitoring using a PIC family microcontroller.(INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PAPER AVAILABLE)
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun.” Quoted by Mary Lou Cook, encouraged us to think on such a topic which can make our lives easier by overcoming the most common problem faced by the whole world. Sometimes, it is very difficult to find a suitable parking place in parking lot. We have proposed a suitable solution to this problem. Arduino has already made a huge impact on learning. The widespread acceptance gave the open source hardware a new life, potentially challenging many industrial products and new interests in hardware prototyping and electronics. Recent transition has been made from 8 bit to 32 bits and it is expected that in future Arduino may be seen in form of a cheap practical computer. You can also presently make custom cellphones using open source boards like the Arduino. Looking at this actionable advancement towards Arduino, allured us to make systematic and organized parking system for vehicles, using Arduino Uno. (INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PAPER AVAILABLE)

The purpose of this project is that as we see nowadays purchasing and shopping at the malls have become a daily routine and essential activity in metro cities. The rush is even more when there are special offers and discounts & also during festivals and it has become a hobby too. The individuals buy different products and deposit them in the trolley, after total purchase one needs to go to billing counter for the payment. At the billing counter the person therein prepares the bill using code reader which will consume a lot of time and this then results in long queues at billing counters. So our main objective for making this prototype which will be introduced in the trolley and also reduce the labors and eliminate time taken in malls by designing an Automatic Billing Trolley. This will work as when the individual will put any of the product in the trolley, its product code will be stored in the database of the controller, and then the bill i.e. the name of the item and the cost of the product will be displayed on the LCD, which uses a RFID reader, all the products are equipped with the RFID tags. So at the billing counter, the total bill data will be displayed on PC which will be transferred by the RF Transreceiver. And also the bill is sent to the mobile phone through the Bluetooth module. And Also we have added one billing method which is by the swiping the card. (INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PAPER AVAILABLE)

Though an entire industry has spurred around the lack of availability of safe drinking water in public places, the truth is that only a small percentage of the country’s population can afford the luxury of packaged water. A need that has been neglected by the government has given way to innovative initiatives to provide the populace clean and fresh drinking water. One among them is a New Delhi-based start-up JanaJal, which literally means ‘water for people’. The start-up has pioneered the concept of hybrid water dispensers, christened Water ATMs. . The start up is also considering introducing pre-paid cards so that there is no hassle of managing cash. “The initiative was started about eight years ago, while I was working on water treatment technologies. The idea of providing safe drinking water at an affordable cost struck me. Thereafter, we worked to develop these hybrid water ATMs,” says Agarwal. Typically, one water ATM requires an investment of about ?10 lakh which includes cost of equipment, taxes and installation costs. “Till date 25 have been set up and we now have an order book of over 1500 ATMs across several States including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharastra and Gujarat. “If we execute these 1500 water ATMs the funding requirement is about Rs. 150 crore. We are looking at various sources, including the Prime Minister's Mudra Yojana to meet our funding requirements,” says the CMD. It has also bagged the mandate to install 100 ATMs on the river banks of the Ganga.“Our water ATMs are now functional in Pune, Nellore, Delhi, Varanasi, Siliguri and Chennai and more than 35 million litres of safe drinking water has been delivered thus far,” he concludes.
